This page explains what Rust Tracker collects, why we collect it, and how we use it. Rust Tracker is currently in beta and under active development.

Summary
- We collect only what we need to run accounts and protect the service.
- We do not sell or share your personal data for marketing.
- Emails are used only for verification, account recovery, and account/security alerts.
What we collect
Account information
- Email address (if you sign up / link email). Used for verification, recovery, and account/security alerts.
- Password hash (never your raw password). Stored only to authenticate you when using email login.
- Steam ID (if you sign in with Steam). Stored to link your Steam login to your Rust Tracker account.
Authentication & security metadata
- Session token cookie (
rt_session) to keep you signed in. - Basic session metadata such as last seen time, user agent, and IP address (used for security, abuse prevention, and operational diagnostics).
Usage/feature analytics (internal)
- When you search/look up a player in the app, we may store the query and the resolved player identifiers (used for abuse prevention, debugging, and product development).
We do not use third-party advertising analytics.
Email delivery events (bounces/complaints)
If email delivery fails (bounce) or is reported as spam, we may store a suppression record so we don’t keep sending to an address that can’t receive mail.
What we do not do
- We do not sell personal data.
- We do not share personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising.
- We do not run ad tracking cookies.
Cookies
Rust Tracker uses essential cookies required for authentication and security. We do not use advertising cookies.
- rt_session (essential): keeps you signed in.
- Cloudflare Turnstile (anti-bot) may use cookies or browser storage as part of its protection.
Rust player data
The Rust Tracker app can display player activity patterns derived from Rust session history. This data is sourced from BattleMetrics and stored as aggregated session statistics (for example: hourly patterns, weekday trends, monthly trends, and recent sessions).
Rust Tracker is intended for informational use. Please respect player privacy and server rules.
Data retention
Rust Tracker currently retains account, security, and usage data indefinitely to operate the service, protect it from abuse, and improve the product.
In the future, we may add automated retention limits and account deletion tools. When those features are available, this section will be updated.
